Physiology of erection
The 2 chambers of penis (corpora cavernosa,) which run throught the organ are crammed with spongy tissue. The corpora cavernosa are surrounded by a membrane, referred to as the tunica albuginea. The spongy tissue incorporates easy muscle mass, fibrous tissues, areas, veins, and arteries. The urethra, which is the channel for urine and semen runs alongside underside of the corpora cavernosa.
As a consequence of sensory or psychological stimulation, or each, the erection begins. As a consequence of impulses from mind and native nerves the muscle mass of corpora cavernosa calm down and permit blood to circulation in and fill the areas of spongy tissue.
The circulation of blood creates strain within the corpora cavernosa, making the penis broaden. The tunica albuginea helps entice the blood within the chambers, thereby sustaining erection. When muscle mass within the penis contract to cease the influx of blood and open outflow channels, erection recedes.
